Unhappy Where Does Quicktime Download WAV & MP3 Samples To?

I am having a problem downloading and using samples and loops from websites that use my Quicktime browser plugin to download and play the samples. The problem is, once the file has downloaded, I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I am using Netscape 7.1 as my browser, in Windows XP Professional and, yes, I do have "show all files & folders" selected, but every time I do a search for the files, they are never found. Where does Quicktime download these files to, anyway?

Another thing; I thought I could override this by making another player the default for WAV and MP3 files, so I set Real player to be the default, not only for those files types, but for Quicktime files, as well. Didn't work. The samples still insist on using Quicktime. This is really frustrating because there are many samples I am unable to make any use of, as I can't find them and save them to my hard disk in a convenient location. Help!

The default is over ridden if the website uses an applet to force the Quicktime player to play the media type.

Do a search on your PC for *.mp3 or *.wav or watever you're looking for. They should come up.

Of course, if they're playing off the website, they're most likely located in you Temporary Internet Files folder.

Thanks for the reply, however, I've already done a search for all WAV files and all MP3 files and painstakingly looked at every one of the thousands that turned up, but none were the files I downloaded; just those that were already on my hard disk. I also checked the Temporary Internet Files, but nothing there, either. They're also not in Netscape's cache folder, because in Netscape (since about 1997) there isn't any cache folder anymore. So, where the heck are they?

Are you sure you downloaded them? If you just played them, they probably streamed to you...
