masterlink erros

My masterlink is screwed up. When I go to burn cd, I get HD/CD write errors. Anyone had this before? It also locks up. I have to shut it down about 5 times to get it to work again. Thanks,Jim

Check the start and end points of the tracks you're trying to create a CD from -- I've experienced the odd corruption of them in a track and it can't render the songs (producing the HD/CD reset error)......

I'll do that Bluebear

I emailed alesis and they got back to me very quickly(I'm surprised). They instructed me to re-initialize the unit. Hold the rec and play button while turning it on. Also download the latest software version 2.18.I'm doing that now and I'll let you know if it resloves the issue.Jim

I think they got their customer service policy from Microsoft -- re-boot the machine is usually their answer to everything!

Rebooting will not do anything if one of the points is corrupt -- the only way I found to fix that is to move it manually (via the remote).........

Bluebear

move one of the points via the remote? You are over my head at this point. What do you mean? I downloaded the 2.18 software. Burned two CD's and so far so good. 2 isnt much of a test but we will see. Jim

There's a remote-only feature that allows you to manually change the start and end points for each track by audibly scanning in jog-mode for a precise audio cue. Take a look at your remote - you should see something like "st edit" or something like that (I'm not near the remote right now, so I can't tell you exactly!) Anyways - it's documented in the manual too.
