Masterlink question

Is it possible to transfer the files from the masterlink back to a DAW without having to hit play on the masterlink and record on the DAW. I didn't know if there was a file system on the masterlink's hard drive that you can just transfer. Is the only way around that to burn a cd24 and bring it down into a DAW.

Thanks,
Brandon

You transfer files by doing a Playlist Backup to a CD-R. This creates a data CD with each track in the playlist as an AIFF file, which is readable by both Macs and PCs.

You transfer files INTO the Masterlink by using their free CD24 utility (available on the Alesis website) to create a CD-R formatted as a Masterlink Playlist Backup which you then insert into the Masterlink and use the Playlist Restore feature to load it.
