Acid and Forge settings...

Whenever i export a file from forge, acid or Goldwave and play it in windows media player or any other player it sounds considerably different. It wasnt a problem before but sometimes i think something is sounding ok but when it is exported the panning levels and volumes sound off. I am thinking that it may just be a setting i need to adjust on my pc...

Hmm. OK another question then. Well two really.

What bit-rate is the file? 16 or 24?
What sample rate is the file? 44.1, 48, 96?

Hmmm. So you've played the file within Sound Forge and it sounds ok, but playing the exact same file in WMP sounds different? That shouldn't be. I'm stumped.

For one if i have added panned vocals to the track when i export it and play it, the panned parts sound much louder than they were in aicd/sound forge

do you perhaps have some sort of faux surround 3D sound enhancement enabled or something?

I know i had that on my old comp...it was really annoying until i figured out what the hell was wrong...it would amplify all the sounds that were farther back in the mix, especially if they were panned hard...
