Still missing Buck62...who I keep seeing in the chatroom. What's the deal Buck? Also rj and DaveX...neither of whom I've heard from in a long time.

That's 82 minutes and 16 seconds folks. Know what that means?

TWO CD'S!

Plus we'll have a whole boatload of room on the second disk. So RE will have room for his mastered/unmastered bit...plus more people can add second songs I suppose.

The only way around this is to kick about 4 to 5 people off the project. I don't want to run things that way...how about you? So 2 CD's it will be.

Oops, nevermind Buck. I remember hearing from you now. It's hard keeping this stuff straight.

Yo, S... (hope you don't mind an even shorter nickname :-)

If it's really two CDs, why don't we use the extra room for graphics and other K00L stuff?

I was already considering graphics and stuff. Think about it though. If people keep their images REASONABLE (.jpg) size then maybe each person will average 1 to 2 MB of space...unless they're going to completely recreate their existing website which would be kinda silly. That's about 25-50MB which is SQUAT on a CDROM. We'll have plenty of room for that plus RecEng's double tune plus some extra songs. We might as well fill the piss out of em eh?

Dragon, it will be up to you to come up with a good writeup of the BBS that will go on the main page of the on-CD "web". I have a pretty cool idea for the web layout...maybe we should get together on it...and I believe Fishmed said he'd be willing to work on it too. (that was you, right fish?)

How about a navigational MP3 version of the CD. This would include all the pertinent artist information as well as a single click to play their song via mp3.

Why not just a single click to play the actual waves?

Because the wavs will be spanned across 2 cd's. At least that's what I thought.
Rather than having to swap cd's out. Only be around 80MB or so of mp3's. Just an idea.

Ammeth, I'm not suggesting we go mp3, the cd #1 and cd #2 will both contain cda versions of the songs. With so much extra space left on the second cd, I thought an mp3 version of the compilation would be an idea - for the reason that it would be easier to integrate into a browser interface, along with the artist info/graphics and any other extra's.
