Question why condensors?

im new to this forum... ive been setting up a studio in my home for a while and im getting frustrated trying to get my vocal recordings sounding right. Im mostly into recording hip hop. im tryin to set up a vocal booth in my closet, and im looking to buy a mic on a pretty low budget. if anywone wants to hit me back w/ some suggestions, or even let me in on whats so bomb about condensor mics it would be greatly appreciated...
word peace.

Read the microphone FAQ at the top of the microphone section.

Then search - your question has been asked many times before.

Also, for Hip-Hop, a nice dynamic might be preferable to a condenser on vox. I have an SM7, and it's great. Other choices might be the EV RE20 or Sennheiser 441.

Don't forget... if you go w/ a condenser mic.... you will need a way to power it.... (most likely... unless you get a bettery powered one....)
