Every project should have a name. Seems like a good place to start while we're waiting for people to get on the list. (BTW, if you have no idea what this is about see the HomeRecording Compilation CD thread)

I figure we just do this in a spit-n-vote manner. Throw out some names and we'll use the most popular one.

I'll start it off. It seems we all had something in common in the "Why doesn't my girlfriend like this so much?" thread, so I came up with HomeRec'ers. Not too original but wtf.

Toss 'em if you got em.

Reptile droppings is sort of close.

How about:

Nest of Dragon Eggs.

The cover would be a dark cave with a pair of fiery red eyes peering out of it, guarding the Nest.

As I posted in the last update (a few minutes ago , the final day to submit name ideas will be next Monday: January 10, 2000. And then we'll have one week for everyone to vote. You must have voted for a name by January 17. If you have problems with these dates, let me know.

Looks like HomeRecording.Comp is going to win so far.

One thing to consider is that if we're going to do this again in the future, then we might need to do something like "Volume 1" or "2000" or whatever. e.g. HomeRecording.Comp Volume 1.

Red face

I can't decide between HomeRec'rs and HomeRecording.comp. They're both excellent puns (my main criterion for such things).

It would probably be safer to go with the latter one, though, seeing as how S8-N is seriously behind it and he's not afraid of blood...

HomeRec'ers is really, really good, but I have to admit that I didn't get the full effect of the title until Slackmaster2k mentioned something about us having the "girlfriend/wife" problem in common. That just might be my stupidity though.

I vote for HomeRecording.Comp, but we gotta put something in there about being HomeRec'ers. Maybe an Internet collaboration on a song with as many that want to participate, and call the virtual "band" The HomeRec'ers. LOL.

Collectively, our artist name for the CD could be "The HomeRec'ers" and the CD title could be "HomeRecording.Comp" Just an idea.

Officially, for CD title, I vote for HomeRecording.Comp

Is anyone else kind of sickened by Santana's latest "work?" What the hell? I guess I can't blame them, but shit.

The songs seem to be 100% pop, and there is next to no emotion on the guitar. For the first 5 or 6 years while I was learning to play the guitar (and I'm still learning of course) I used to stick a tune on the stereo and just kind of noodle along with it. I'd find the key and just sort of play...stuff. When I first heard that tune with the Matchbox 20 guy, that's EXACTLY what the guitar playing reminded me of....better than me of course, but still just noodling...constant, thoughtless dinking.

I suppose the next thing we'll see is a Gratefull Dead reunion with Britney Spears filling in for Jerry Garcia.

LOL. Digital Menudo... cracked me up.

If Ricky Martin is on this project count me out. Besides, once Santana wins his 30 Grammys, or whatever obscence number he was nominated for, maybe the general music-buying population will realize that Latin based rock/pop music has been around forever and wasn't invented by soap opera Ricky and Jennifer Lopez's rear. Just makes me cry though that it took the guy from Matchbox20 to get Santana noticed again by the mainstream.
