Comp CD Update - Deadlines & other info - 1/4/00

- Thanks to dragon we now, obviously, have a group for this project. Unfortunately the thread I posted yesterday got nixed so here 'tis again.

- I have an email address at hotmail where you can email me about this project. It is HR_Comp_CD@hotmail.com I'll be using this to keep track of the email addresses of those who are going to be contributing to this project (to keep everyone up to date on important info & deadlines even if they can't log on to the BBS).

- I need email addresses from the following people: houdini and Buck62.

- I sent an email verification message yesterday from the new account. If you didn't receive anything, let me know.

- DEADLINES: If you have a problem with these deadlines, then let me know soon...I just made em up so you won't hurt my feelings any.

January 10, 2000 - Last day to submit an idea for the name.

January 17, 2000 - Last day to sign up to contribute music to the CD.

January 17, 2000 - (yes, the same day) The final votes will be counted and we'll have an official name.

I will be sending emails to the music contributers as these deadlines close in.

- The name. So far it looks like S8-N's Homerecording.Comp idea is in the lead with (unofficially) 4 votes. Submit your ideas to the naming thread.

BTW, I never did find out officially if Dragon is going to put some music on this. So there are 21 "yes" and 1 "maybe" so far. If you signed up and aren't on the list then lemme know ASAP.

- I have received word from 4 or 5 people who will want to purchase a CD, so the $$$ situation is looking pretty good with around 26-27 people total.

Put me as a definite "maybe"...so far most of what I've recorded is covers (not acceptable for the comp CD by my own rule!), and I've been going through my archives to find that I haven't actually even recorded anything new in a ridiculous amount of time...I've been doing nothing but playing with new software and working on this site (in addition to actually working...).

I may get inspired soon though...in any case, I won't make anyone wait for me to get my act together!

Perhaps my main contribution to the music world will be this place for people to meet and learn...sigh.

There isn't a deadline yet for submitting songs. I figured we'd wait a bit to get everyone signed up (Jan. 17th) first. I suppose we'll need at least two weeks to a month after that to get the song list down and everything up on the net here and there. So you've got at least a month to dig through those closets!
