New MDM-X4 MkII owner here
Got it at a tag sale for $100, couldn't pass it up at that price. I've been using regular MD for a few years now and figured this could replace my old Tascam 424 cassette.
I'd been looking at memory based 8-tracks like Fostex MR8 and Boss BR864 but didn't like the limitations on record time and simultaneous tracks. Instead, with $100 of data discs (which I can reuse, of course) my $200 leap into digital multitracking has begun. I'm sure I'll have my share of questions as I get ramped up on this thing. |

Wait til you are able to upgrade to the Yamaha MD-8,... another great Minidisc machine. By the time you've outgrown your Sony, and have budgeted for an 8-track, the MD-8 will likely be another $100 Ebay item!! That's projecting off, into the future a bit, but you know what I mean!!
MD is cool!! Congrats & have fun!! Dave... Sony MDS-JE510 Sony MDS-JE320 Tascam 564 Yamaha MD-8 |
