this all confuses me. so does MIDI, but oh well. i'll just get what i want on MIDI, and then record each track to audio. once i do that, i'll mix it down accordingly. thanks for trying to help, i guess i'm just too much of a newb to catch on.

There are other sound fonts available which "may" be usable by your sound card that have much better sounds than the GM set. It is worth spending some time to learn if you want to increase the quality of your MIDI generated music. Or better yet, upgrade to Sonar and start using DXi's. ![]() |

look james, that post is all fine and well, but i don't have SB live, i have SBPCI. i'm sure if i could get the soundfont menu to work, i would be able to pick up on soundfonts in a second, but i don't need a to download something for a soundcard i don't have.

Rock Star 87, you sound like you really want do work with music.
Then do yourself a favour and get a better soundcard (and preferably a newer sequenser too). ![]() A new sequenser will ship with a big, fat manual for you to read. ![]() James, you posted some good links, but forgot the most important one: http://home.no.net/magnesiu/cakewalkfaq/ ![]()
