Help with a buzzing

Ok, I've had my mr8 for over a year and it hasn't had any problems. I've upgraded my card to a Lexar 512mb card that worked great until last band practice. The tracks 5/6 and 7/8 now have a loud buzzing sound when playing, even after formatting my card. Now I'm left here not being able to bounce tracks. Do any of you have this problem or have any suggestions?

thanks

buzzing

is th noise coming from the headphones or the line outs? if its the headphines its a common problem, if its the line outs, are you sure its not on all the channels

also many unconfirmed cards work, but will NOT bounce down, is your card confirmed with fostex?

It's not on the headphones or line outs. The noise is showing up on the level (i can't think of the name for it.) The card isn't listed as approved on fostex's site but many people here have had no problem with it. I tried the factory card that was sent with my mr8 and it has the same problem. Thanks though.

mr8

are you using a mixer, you could have a bad cord in the loop, or a ground problem, try a different cord and a different outlet in the building, make sure the switch isnt set to the built in mic

hope your still under warranty, this is a new one......

yeah, i'm screwed. I'm sure my warranty has run out by now. I'm not using a mixer. I'm just running in a guitar directly into the recorder. I can even play a blank file that I've just created and still hear the buzzing on track 5/6 7/8 without anything being recorded.

edit: I've also tried about 9 different outlets. It may be our entire circuit where I live, so I'm going to buy batteries to test that. We had a power failure about a week ago, and I'm wondering if we have a crappier supply now.

power

was the mr8 ;lugged in during the power failure, i have lost equipment when the power comes back on.... your homeowners insurance woluld cover that..

worst case , record on 1-4 move tracks to computer and mix with software there, send back to mr8 and add more tracks and repeat, mostly what i do anyway, i creat stereo tracks from mono on the pc, ntrack will do this....

yeah, I'm f***ed. We don't have homeowner's insurance and my computer is about to die as it is. It couldn't handle any more software. I don't have a job, I don't have any $, etc.
