Looking for a new pre, under $2,000.

I have a Motu 828MKII, and I love it.
But I want an external pre.
I'll be recording r&b vocals mainly, maybe some rap as well.
I only really need 1 channel, but I'm open for any suggestions.

There are several mic preamps that will do nicely.

My two personal faves are the Great River NV series which includes the ME-1NV and the A Designs MP series which includes the MP-1.

In that price range, for slightly more you can get a DW Fearn VT-1, A Groove Tubes Viper, Chandler TG2 or a Martech.
