Which One Should I Get ??
Hiya Everyone
I have been looking about on this forum for a few weeks now looking for some software to buy to enable me to do some pretty 'standard' recording at home. I have finally come to the conclusion that a Cakewalk product is the one for me .... but which one should I get ? My music is primarily guitar and I use a Line6 Guitarport (which I think is awesome). Using this means that I should be able to get the tones/effects I need at the start and these are not (really) needed in the software I buy (although it wouldn't hurt having a few more or trying some other things). I want to be able to record vocals at some point. I need something that will create me a backing track drums etc, bass would be nice but not sure if there is such a thing. I would like to be able to import an MP3 backing track and then record my bits over it too. Also (not too sure if this is possible) I would like some sort of 'auto synth' type thing to create some atmosphere and something that can change the vocals a bit ie effects wise (high pitch or distorted or something like that - for the kids). This is basically what I require but I am really unsure of what to get, I am currently looking at Guitar Tracks Pro 3 or Home Studio 2004XL but really dont know which one to choose. Can anyone assist in my what to choose conundrum ? Thanks Lee |

Thanks Mr Moskus
I think that you are right Home Studio seems to be the better bet for my needs. Does anyone know what bits are in Home Studio and not in Guitar Tracks Pro and vice versa ? Not knowing too much about them (only what I read which is rather confusing) makes it hard to understand Ta |

Basically, HomeStudio can do whatever Guitar Tracks can do, but HomeStudio has MIDI support (and other features) too...
