Live Mixdowns in Sonar

I would like know to the easiest way to do live mixdowns in Sonar 2.0.

My current mixes are fine when using automation and exporting the file when I have all my settings. However, I have some tunes that require some toggling on and off of effects that I prefer to do while listening to playback.

Also, changing the value effects during playback is key as well.

I can't find anything in the help or the manual that gives specific instruction in this. I don't want to use envelopes or automation on this.

Please advise.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Jim

If you don't want to use automation (tell me why), then you'll have to do it the old fashion way: Record to either a program or an external recorder (depending on your setup/soundcard).

I have used automation in the past for fader movement and thats OK, but I can't seem to get the hang of automating and indivdual effect on an individual track

I just want to turn on and off reverb or a flanger for guitar in certain passages of the song. The Arm for Automation command when right clicking only comes up in the Aux section.

Thanks

Use an effect envelope rather than Arm for Automation.

FYI, not all effects can be automated. The ones supplied with Cakewalk that begin with FX (e.g., FXReverb) can all be automated.

Thanks. I'll try creating an effect envelope. Hope it works.

Or record the effect on a seperate 100% wet track, trim or automate/auto-mute those.
