when recording....

hi its me again =( when im recording on cakewalk home studio...how many dbs of sound should the vocals be over the beat? to give it that professional sound.....this is a general question and all opinions are considered very helpful to me =)! thanks

Exactly. And who's to say the beat shouldn't register higher than the vocals depending on the style on song?
