Not a real big deal, but has anyone else seen a compressor w/ no make up gain control???
I just got a Symetrix 522 off eBay, (actually, it'll be here later today), and noticed from the pictures that there is no gain control!! (Just attack/release/threshold/ratio) I guess that "limits" (no pun intended) to small reductions in level, and compensate for it at the next device in line. (The mixer) Is it just a design decision, forcing one to choose another device to boost the level (and noise) that was lowered in the compression process? Any other comps out there that leave off this (in my eyes) useful feature? Any good reason for it? Just curious... Thought someone here might know... TIA.
