Bundle file audio data?

I'm trying to create bundle files to back up various projects on my 2nd hard drive.

I navigate to the backup drive (E), to a folder called Cakewalk Backup, & I Save As type Cakewalk Bundle. It creates a 1MB file called project1.cwb in this folder. However the audio is not moved to the new location. When I look in File,Project Audio Files, all the audio is still on the old drive.

Now if I open up project1.cwb, it asks where I want to restore the data to. I specify a folder on the E drive. It duly unpacks everything onto the E drive. When I look in File,Project Audio Files, I can now see all the audio data on the E drive.

However when I close the project down, I look in explorer, and all the audio data has disappeared again?!?!

I'm obviously doing something totally stupid. All I want to do is create the bundle file on the E drive. What's the easiest way to do this?

Bundle files contain the audio within them. That is one of the reasons for using the bundle format, i.e., the entire project, audio and all, is intact in one file. (Although the 1 mb size seems quite small for a bundle file. Is this mostly a midi project?)

When you reopen a bundle file, Sonar "temporarily" rewrites the audio to a separate folder on your hard drive; however, if you do not RESAVE the file as a project file (.cwp), the audio will be deleted from the separate folder upon closing the bundle file. However, the audio will still be contained within the bundle itself.

Thanks for replying to the idiot Dachay.

I've realised that the file sizes are KB not bytes, so everything is OK. All I can put it down to is the cold medication I was on last night. At least I hope that's what it was...

Cold medication rules OK!

It has kept me alive for most of last week.
