fun with R8's

Boy do I need help. Is anyone out there a 20 year vet with fostex stuff and up on modern systems?
I now have 2 R8's(one with a mtc/ltc,midithing) and a computer system with nuendo 2 here is what I need to know. (no manuals)
-how to sync. the machines?
-what cable/time piece do I need?
-is it possible to use my computer to control(sync.) them?
-where can I download a manual?

p.s. I am getting great results now I am tracking to tape and mixing
in the computer.
