Just Curious Piano Roll vs. Staff

just out of curiousty (spelling ) which one do you prefer to use. I prefer staff, but that's just my opinion. feel free to disagree.

I've never learned how to read sheet-music, so it's Piano Roll all the way for me...

For drums piano roll is just SO much easier, but I use staff for any other instrument.

Drum maps hey.... I've never even seen these..... How do I find them? I use Piano roll because I'm a drummer and like having note-for-note control..

If you're using Sonar 2 or 3, you can manage them under Tools -> Drum Maps. It's pretty well explained in the manual...

I'm also inbetween... before I used Sonar I was always using a Staff view. Now in Sonar it depends on how I fell.. I might program all the parts first off in Staff view then drop to Piano Roll to add the after touches.

Cool

Piano roll here. It's easier to edit note length and position etc. I can also alter velocity and midi controller message in no time...

Piano roll view, the Staff view can make you sterile.
