my minidisc cassette is stuck in the minidisc player...help ?

ok...kinda sucks...

so the little cassette is stuck in my sony minidisc player...
it happened once before, but now it just won't come out...

so what can i do about it? i experimented with spoons and stuff,
hahahaha, but hell, i'm not doing that again !!

smash the thing ? or srew it open ?

I suggest to screw it open.
Then you`ll have more space to get it out.
(take the plug out first so you don`t have to be related to a lightball!! haha.)

Yo ears of parasites:

I had my MD8 jam up ONCE on me. I shut the unit off after I got my 2816 and after a few months I thought I'd turn it on and mess around with it. Well, I left the disc in the unit when I shut it off and I think this messes up the TOC [table of contents] function.

I pulled, and yanked and tugged and shut the unit off and then turned it on and by a stroke of luck, the mechanism freed up. Now, I do NOT leave the disc in the unit.

Hmmm, I can sympathise:

I work in a studio, and one particular client always likes to record direct to MD. I have a Tascam MD-301mkII here, and that often starts to eject, but swallows the disk again before it comes out far enough for you to grab it.

Usually it helps to tip the back of the unit up and tap it, or use a pen to stop the disk going back inside. Most embarrassing... Still, the TOC is unaffected thank God...

Funnily enough, I also have a Tascam DA-20MkII that often swallows DAT tapes. Maybe it's a Tascam thing.

i see we got the same minidisc players at school, because we're not allowed to record in REAL WAVE files, cause some people like selling the stuff they recorded at school.

so i'm thinking of a way to cheat,
i'd like to bring a little portable DAT recorder or so with me,
so i can take my VOCAL SESSIONS with me to home....

but damn....i don't know shit about those portable solutions,
its time to dig up info.... so i assume it does exist, no ?
a portable DAT recorder, and what kind of inputs does that thing have ?

If you're using spoons and forks, you're doing it all wrong. What you need is a butter knife. Or better yet a screwdriver. Open the darn thang up. My md 4-track door wouldn't open to allow me to insert the disc. I opened it up and found a little tab on the door had slipped from its slot on the machanical arm that opens the door. You could have a sim prob. If that don't work, brick walls are handy.
