software for recording to pc.

Hello,
I`ve recently installed a new soundcard (Terratec DMX 6fire with optical in/out) and now I`m trying to record my minidisk recordings to my pc.
I`ve got a Sony minidisk deck MDS JE-510.
It`s optical connected to my pc.

Now I`m searching for an easy to use program for recording my music.
I`ve tried several programs but in all of them I have to cut my recordings into peaces to get each song apart. Or I must record number by number.

I don`t know if there`s a program that begins a new recording after a couple of seconds silence.

If anybody can tell me, please do.
