inputs and outputs

are there any ways to get just as many out as there are ins on any given mixer, or are there any mixers who have options of corresponding outs or main out? I was jsut wondering cause I might want to get a new mixer, but want more outs..

MichaelM is on a distinguished road
Yes you can get mixers that have a direct out for each channel. My Behringer UB2442 has direct outputs for 8 of the mic/line inputs as well as the 4 subgroups and effect sends etc. Just an example.

Yes, this is very important, and as Michael said, the key is getting a mixer that has direct preamp outputs. For a good overview of this see "Using a mixer with a DAW," first in the list on my Articles page:
