Midi newbie connecting Korg/SB audigy/Acid Music 4
I am having issues getting to record MIDI files using my Korg Triton LE. I connect the Korg MIDI out/in to my audigy live drive MIDI in/out. I have selected the MIDI devices available for MIDI playback and selected the devices available for MIDI input. Im not sure how to set up the sync settings tab under preferences. I have enabled the real-time midi tab in options.
Each time I try to record a new midi track...i select the MIDI radio button, then select my MIDI device as the record device, then nothing....no sound registering in the monitor bar, and then I hear no sound at all from my keyboard. I have even played with combinations of MIDI trhough devices frm that menu. Admittedly I am very new to the whole MIDI scene, but I have read through the software help documentation and things I thought looked simple enough, but for the life of me I cant get it to work. I simply would like to be able to add keyboard tracks to my recordings, but in a midi format, so I can edit voices...timing...etc...(previously, I would simply record my keyboard sections as .wav files). Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

What is your sound source?
Are you thinking that the sounds from the Triton travel through the MIDI cable? There's no audio information -- no sound -- in MIDI messages. Read this: http://www.webdevelopersjournal.com/studio/midi.html |
