Re: Fostex X-18 no track 2

Hey there,

I am very upset. I was recording a vocal onto a song tonight, and realised when I played it back that track 2 (backing vocal) had disappeared. I thought I must have had a switch wrong somewhere, but I checked and everything seemed set up just right. All that was coming through track two was a loud rushing noise, louder than one normally hears when an empty tracks volume is turned up to full. So I tried getting a new blank tape and recording onto tracks one and two and, lo and darn well behold, all that came through track two was that same rushing sound. I then wondered if it could be somehow be the output to my headphones, so I recorded some track 2 from line out -- same thing. When my mic is connected to an input, and track 2 is selected for recording, the level indicator rises and falls as it should, just either it is not recording, or playing back track 2 at all.

Could it be the tape head? PLEASE HELP??????!
