Midi Setup?

Hey all,
I have Upgraded my gear lately and am pumped, One Problem I dont know how to hook it all up......
Midi wise that is.
I have a:
Boss BR-1180CD Midi in out
Yamaha MOTIF 6 Midi in out thru
Yamaha DTXpress Midi in out

How do I hook it up so I can use the BR as the master?
Do I use Clock or Timecode?
Anything I should know?
Help!

Obviously you haven't opened any of the manuals yet, have you?
Sorry but I'm often amused by the posts from people who ask how to set up
their gear on these forums without doing a little homework first...
Try Boss out to keyboard in & keyboard thru to Yamaha in for starters...

You thought that was snide?

So sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I was trying to help, I'll say it again: Midi cord from the BR1180 out jack to the Motif midi in jack. Then another cord from the keyboard's Midi thru jack to the DTX Midi in jack.

Lightbulb

Ugh, sorry reco... I thought you're the same guy on "the other side". Nevermind, anyway you can try what jboy917 said. I assume you use Motif and DTXpress as sound generator only, right? Then you don't need to use Clock / Time code stuff to sync them.

Boss MIDI out --> Motif MIDI in
Motif MIDI thru --> DTXpress MIDI in

Refers to their manual if there's particular configuration each devices should be set.

Hey guys nah I guess I was just frustrated a bit at the way it all works....
I'm kinda midi dumb, I get so pissed at gear and not knowing what I need to know about it that sometimes I just give up and sell it all off......

I dont wanna do that again.
Sorry if I sounded iritated.

I changed some gear so here is the updated list and what I think I have figured out about it tell me if I'm way off or doing thios rite.

Gear:
Boss BR-1180CD
Yamaha Motif 6
Akai MPC-2000

So I figure that I should go Br midi out - to Motif Midi in - motif midi thru - to MPC midi in? Is this right?

Second should I be using TimCode MTC, or Clock?

I tryed using MTC but I seamed that the moftif was drifting..........

Thanks for your help and sorry to sound pised.
