Question How to split a file?

Is there a way split or divide a file in half at a specified point in Adobe Audition 1.0? If so, how can I do this? Please give simple instructions.

Thanks so much

To create separate files for each track:
1. Choose View > Display Time Format. Set the Ruler Time Format to Compact Disk 75 fps.
2. Choose Edit > Snapping, and then select Snap to Ruler (fine) and Snap to Frames.
3. Press F8 between the tracks to insert cue markers. Make sure that you place the first cue marker at the beginning of the file and the last cue marker at the end of the file.
4. Choose View > Show Cue List.
5. Select the first cue marker. Press the Shift key and select the last cue marker. All cue markers are highlighted.
6. Click Merge.
7. Repeat step 5 to highlight all cue markers.
8. Click Batch to open the Batch Process Phases dialog box, and then click Save to File.
9. Enter a prefix for the files that will be created (for example, Track) in the Filename Prefix text box.
10. Select a destination folder for the files, and then choose Windows PCM (*wav) from the File Type pop-up menu. Click OK. Each track is saved to a unique file.

In Edit View (If you're in mutitrack view, press F12):

-Select half of the file (left mouse and drag)
-File|Save selection...
-Enter name, destination and format (normally Windows PCM Wav)
