Should we re-record our songs?

We have being putting our new stuff on SoundClick for a while.

We have now put some of our older songs on. The older songs were all recorded in one live take with no overdubs, using some basic equipement, a few years ago.

We think the songs are still good & well written.

So... should we go back to them and re-record them using our current multi-layered production methods, or leave them "as is".

Comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.
Paul

Thumbs up the way it is

I like the stuff the way it is, but who knows , I might like it more if it was re-recorded? I say hey, if you've got the time, try re-recording a track or two - if you dig it, go over the whole thing - wou might find bits in the music you never heard before. if not, then screw it, go with the originals - your call.

I noticed you said in a previous post you had record label interest - would you be re-recording the tracks for commercial release or what? I think it's an opinion thing. Like I say, I like em the way they are, but I also liked dylan's version of "all along the watchtower" before I heard Hendrix's, so who knows . . .
