Hey C-
Just an FYI. A couple of years ago I really wanted a Boomerang, too and I bought one. Once I got it home, I found it was REALLY noisy. The sound was way too grainy to record with. For distorted stuff it may have worked but I was dealing with realy clean el and acoustic guitar. I ended up getting an old tape echoplex and love it. I know you didn't ask for a review, but I wanted to throw in my experience. Luckily, I was able to return it just a few days after the purchase. H2H |

Interesting. I had heard the opposite: that it was very clean, maybe there is a lot of variation between units? I had considered the Boss RC 20 Loop Station, but a guitar god friend of mine swore up and down that the Boomerang was a superior unit in terms of sound and ease of use. But, hey, who really knows. I would love to rent one first to try it, but there is nowhere in town that carries them.
By the way, I am not planning on using it to record anyway, it is for jamming and live use. |

For live use I think it woulod be just fine for you then.
![]() I'll let you in on the secret of the best delay/looping unit though. It's the Lexicon Jam-Man. It was discontinued several years ago, and is very hard to find these days. I was introduced to this unit by a great fingerstylist, Phil Keaggy. It has features like a variable on the fly tempo shift that none of the others really get right. If you can find one get it! ![]() H2H |

![]() BTW...I'm presently not gigging (for a while anyway due to the new baby thing), so if you're anywhere near CT and want to borrow (It's not for sale) the RC-20 to check out, let me know. |

I use a 'rang onstage to loop vocals. It has been giged hard and held up well.
