Mic Issues!!

What's up everyone? I'm new to the site, and new to the whole difficult world of recording!

My gear: Marshall mxl2003 mic condensor, Behringer mic100 tube pre-amp (w/ built-in phantom power), and EMU 1212 sound card. Pentium 3, 256mb ram

I got the mic hooked up with the XLR cable to the pre-amp, and a TRS cable from the pre-amp to the sound card on my pc. I'm using cool edit pro to record into.

I can't get a mic line!!! This is very frustrating, I been trying different things for a few days now and still no success.

Can anyone make any suggestions or help (Could this possibly be a problem with the setting on my computer)?

What kind of soundcard? Sound Blasters and on-board consumer sound chips often have the Line In disabled for recording by default when they are installed, for some reason.
