Master with HW or SW

What do most "Professional" RE's use to master, Hardware or Software or a combination? Is it getting to be more and more software based?

[Massive Master]

There's some great software out there, but there really isn't any substitute for certain hardware. And obviously, there will never be any substitute for ears, technique and a superior monitoring chain.
