A new bass......

I havn't picked up a new bass in years. I have been using midi for basic bass lines in constructing material. Now that I want to start to bring everything to life, I believe it is time to purchase a new bass. I have been looking at several options.
Schecter
carvin
ibanez

I have played a few Ibanez that weren't to bad.
basicly I'm looking for something in the $500 to $1000 range. If someone could give me there thoughts on the other two (carvin, schecter) it would be appreciated.
thanks.

Hi, NBK.

I recorded this song with a Carvin B4. I really like it. People who have picked it up are impressed with the sound and playability.

PS Please leave a post about the song. Thanks!

Have a look at the G&L Tribute series. Awesome value for money - I have the premium version which has a swamp ash body and the same electrics as the mainstream G&L's. Streets ahead of Fender in quality, and a huge range of sounds (twin humbuckers, two types of active selection, coil taps).
