Travel Electrics

Hello.

Does anyone have any opinions or experience with small "travel" guitars? I don't mind really short scales (I used to have a Mustang, very sweet). I would like a good neck and at least standard enough pickups that I could change them out if I wanted to.

I saw the Fender has this mini Strat:

Has anyone played one?

Thanks a heap!

ABout fourteen years ago I had a job that involved some travel, so I bought one of those Steinberger-style "headless" guitars. The one I bought was a knock-off of the real Steinberger (which was a rather pricey guitar) manufactured by Hohner -- the equivalent guitars are now made under the Steinberger name (the Steinberger Spirit line) and are available at MusicYo.com. Dan Erlewine also markets a similar type of guitar called a Lazer, which is played by Johnny Winter, oddly enough.

The advantage here is that they are normal-scale necks. I still have my Hohner and it's a good guitar --not excellent, but it sounds quite good, plays well and intonates well...
