effect send on bass head..

hey, whats the best way for me to play my bass through my head, but to also record a line feed to a di box? I have an effect send loop on the back, is this a suitable signal? I've never gave it much thought. Any other input would be great...

its a hartke 2000 head if it makes a difference

What DI box are you using? Is it passive or active? Can it accept speaker-level inputs, or only line level? If it can take a speaker-level input, run it between the head and cab. DO NOT do this if it is not set up to accomodate such an input, however. Otherwise, you could run it in your effects loop.

the effect send would be a line signal to a pedal, etc. ive never heard of a box that accepted speaker line feeds. i guess im gonna have to experiment...
