Voice Recording Sounds To "real"

IIGHT, I HAVE COOL EDIT PRO 2.0, USING A BERINGER EURO RACK 802 MIXER, AND A PROJECT STUDIO B-1 CONDENSOR MIC.
MY PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN I RECORD, MY VOICE SOUNDS TO "REAL", LIKE IF I WAS RIGHT BEHIND THE SPEAKER SINGING. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM, REVERB? COMPRESSOR? OR HARD LIMITING? WHAT MUST I DO TO MAKE MY VOICE SOUND LIKE ITS IN THE MUSIC?

MAKE AS MANY SUGGESTIONS AS POSSIBLE SO THAT I CAN NARROW THIS STUFF DOWN. AND IF YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT TO DO, STATE-----"IVE GOT THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM"------

and maybe try a little reverb and some compression across the whole mix. Also turn down the vocals. Keep messing with it until it sounds good. People spend years studying this. It's not called the art of mixing for nothing.

Iight, I have Cool Edit Pro 2.0, using a Behringer euro Rack 802 Mixer, and a Project Studio B-1 Condensor Mic.
My problem is that when I record, my voice sounds to "REAL", like if I was right behind the speaker singing. What is the problem, reverb? compressor? or hard limiting? What must I do to make my voice sound like its in the music?

Make as many suggestions as possible so that i can narrow this stuff down. Any advice would help. Thanks

how close are you to the mic when you record? if you have a decent condenser, you don't need to be RIGHT IN FRONT of it, you can give it some space. i've worked with condensers that picked up shit from out in the hallway if i left the door open, so back off it a bit maybe and it might sound less in-your-face.

I didn't check the date before I responded. Actually, I was (and still am) curous about what the English equivalent of whatever it was he said. Man, it's so hard when you're not a cool & happenin dude. =sigh=
