Wink unbalanced cooledit waveform

hi, i've just bought the Tube MP by ART and own a Unidirectional Low-End microphone by AudioTechnica.

I am trying to record on cooledit pro and faced with a problem. It seems that when I record the waveform is more dominant at the bottom, it doesn't want to stay centered. I am recording in mono. is anyone else faced with this problem. any help will be appreciated. thank you.

It's not that unusual and may just indicate some harmonic distortion from the tube. How about with the tube dialed out?

ok i've experimented around and discovered a few things:

1) it doesn't do it if i plug the guitars and not the microphone

2) if i use the Low to High Impedance transformer the problem is reduced to about 80%

i think that the problem may be with the microphone. it has been dropped and has a big dent on it. what do you think? it's a vocal microphone

It may not indicate a problem at all. The mic may just be driving it harder than the guitar. Does it sound ok?
Did you try comparing it at it's cleanest setting vs lots-o-toob. Seems like I recall the 'Blue Toob' doing the same thing even set 'clean'.
