Was great to see you turn up at CNC..........I have most of the gear (imported from the US) to build a machine but it is on hold while I finish settling my late father's estate and getting organised to bring his workshop back down to my place. Hopefully once it is up and running I will be able to produce front panels for studio rack gear as well as the ambitious task of shaping "archtop" bodies.

I don't see much happening for another few months unfortunately.

I do Mastercam 2 dim. and will be taking 3 dim. CAD/CAM. I am a better conventional machinist w/lathe and mill experience and a machine technology education to boot. I would love to work on some of your ideas as I am interested in music and machining.

To build a CNC mill you need the right parts table, servos, fanuc controls, Head and spindle, coolant etc. Do you have all these?

Anyway it all sounded interesting and thought I'd check you out. If I ever had enough money to open up a shop it would have to be music related. Combining two interests seems to be unnevitably destine to be one.

Hey casenpoint. Chris found me posting on CNCzone, which is a forum for....ha, as if you couldn't guess Anyway, theres a thread going on to form a group of enthusiasts, to make up a set of plans for a homebuilt CNC. I can't help much, as I know nothing about them except possibly drawing in CAD, but that seems unlikely, as how can you draw something you don't know anything about. I am in the process of gathering the info and files for programming ..GCODE? I do draw stuff that other people import and I guess convert in another program. And I have to lay parts out from 0,0, but its only store fixture panels etc. Lots of curves though sometimes. Enough of that here though. Well good luck with the CNC Chris. I'll be posting questions. As soon as I learn enough to ask relevant ones. Ha! I just want to build a small one for dados and engraving. Later guys.(Better quit this here before we get a piece of 703 thrown at us!)

I understand what you are saying. What I found is that there are many levels of CNC machine.........I have the servos, controller pcb's, etc for my purposes..........what I'm lacking at the moment is the time .
