Oooh yes, had that a few times. whats worse is when the guitarist or whoever says they want to hear it through, you play it and then they think you were recording it and get really angry at you. Blah!

... or that you were tapping the beat with your foot, and your foot was next to the mic stand... (now I gate/EQ the lower frequencies out so it doesn't matter, but was this frustrating on some earlier recordings!)

What about when you're mixing a song and you have to play it over and over and over and over for days sometimes. I'm sure my neighbors must think I'm crazy. Not to mention how it drives the rest of the people in the house nutts also.

what about having a room 30 yards from the highway.......late morning/early afternoon recordings are possible.....after that..all other recording must be done after 11.

or the ever annoying ring of the doorbell, cell phone, house phone 30 seconds before the end of the track.

or if you forget to turn off your AOL Instant Messenger and someone sends you an IM.

dont you hate it when you drop your pick half way through the take?

I used to have a BIG RED LIGHT above my door along with a sign that said.. IF THE RED LIGHT IS ON DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR! MAKE NO SOUND! and of course. Knocks on the door, people coming to the window and waving, man I am gald I moved.

in the middle of recording a good take and the power goes out. no thunderstorms in the area or anything.....the power just went out.

the lesson learned from that is to save your work after each take even if you dont plan on keeping it. AND!!
