i can sem to get a configration that works. Is it possible to get the network running or is it not possible with delta sound cards?

I was really wondering about the overall quality of the unit you know how warm are the converters are they edgey or sharp or smooth and silky?

If both cards have digital in/outputs it should work fine. You may have latency issues with midi. Describe your problem and how you have been setting the computers up.

Are you linking two sequencers or VST stack?
