motuexpress xt problem

i got a motu usb express xt midi interface from a good friend of i.
the device worked well on his appel g4.
now i tried do install the whole thing on my pc.
the deviece shows up in cubas in the midi section and also ind the system of the computer himself , but when i start the midiclock software from motu a dialog apperas the the computer can´t comunicate with the device , i´m also not able to play any synth on my computer over the motu , there comes no midi message into my computer.
i tried different cables and two computers and its always the same.
does anybody got the same problem

perhaps cubase is not properly set up for the drivers of the card your using. You should only need 1 midi cable if using softsynths.
What clock ? a metronome ?
