Vocal Effect

Soo I'm looking to get an effect on vocals similar to the stuff the guy from The Strokes has. I've tried amp sims and got some cool sounds, but just looking for some more tips if anyone has any. thanks.

Are you talking like a distortion type sound? I usually use cyanide II to distort vocals. It's got pre and post filters, and a wet dry mix, so you can get some nice fuzz without making the vocals unintelligible.
