Question Sonar 2.0XL cutting track parts

Ok I give up. I have been messing with Sonar 2.0 for just a bit now. The problem that I am having is that I would like to cut the noise off the front of all the tracks that I have recorded. When I cut them it just leaves a blank space at the front of the song. How do I cut the dead space from the front off a track and can I cut them all at the same time?
I am recording my tracks on a digital recorder then importing them into my PC as .wav files. I then import them track by track into Sonar.

Thanks, Doc G

Why don't you import them as you are, stick the cursor at the point where you want to begin, highlight all the tracks and press "S" to split them.

Select all the crap you don't need and delete it.

Select what's left and drag it forward to where you want it to start.

Oh yeah - and you should upgrade to 2.2 from the Cakewalk website.

There's also mute automation, envelopes and slip-edits with cross fades.
I've been sticking with envelopes for everything from trims and fades, and just continue on with them as the mix automation.
Slip edits may be faster for part of it (haven't used them), but I'd doubt it with automation too.

Thanks

I'll work with it a bit more. I tried the suggestions that you made and they are working for me. Thanks.

What does 2.2 do for me?

2.2 is patches and bug-fixes and I think that version also added ASIO support.

It is not a major difference, but I found it a little more stable.

Did I mention it's a freebie download?
