Angry help!!!!! wicked elves are stealing audio from me when i sleep

newbie
been using cake walk for about a couple of years and have had no probs

Suddenly for the last week or so when i record audio at night and save it......... the next morning when i get up some of the tracks won't play. some play some don't

the clips are visable
but the wont play

i can find them in the audio data file and can play them
and i can import them back int the song i am working on so i know i still have them BUT when i save the work again and go to bed ....the next morning they won't play. i am lost in a kind of ground hog day a la cakewalk.

is this some kind of path thing?

any advise or thoughts

Lightbulb

How do you save your project? (.cwp or .cwb)?

It's better to save as bundled file (.cwb). Or you can save as Project (.cwp) with Per Project Audio Folder options ticked (Options-->Global-->Audio data). By doing so, you save the whole audio file of the project in the project's audio folder.

That's what it sounds like to me.
Do you have other audio tracks in this project that do play?
You could try creating a blank audio track and either drag or paste the audio track into it,save and replay it.This could help in the the process of elimination.

Sounds worse than that. It it was a path problem there should be a 'missing audio' message when the project is opened and the tracks would look like flat lines.
Does it happen whenever you close-open, all projects?

I'd do both -so you always have two copies.

If it happens on particular project only, there must be something wrong with the project. Don't worry, sometime it happens even with MsWord

To correct it, open the project, re-construct all audio files to their respective clips until the project runs well and you hear correct sound on right track all the way thru the song. Then select all tracks, and copy them. Open new project (better using per-project audio folder), paste them. Save new project with different name. New saved project usualy behaves right After you're sure, then you can delete the old project.
