Home Studio XL 2004 track problems

I have an Aardvark ProQ10 input device and I'm trying to record just live drums to start a new song. I have 3 mics, 1 on the bass drum 1 on the snare and 1 on the ride cymbal. Each time I record a passage all three mics are on the same track. How do I separate the tracks so that the bass drum mic is on track 1, the snare is on track 2 and the ride is on track 3?

Also, even tho I have set the panning of each track to the center in the aardvark software, the bass drum is coming out of the left, the snare and ride are coming out of the right side.

Adjust the inputs on the track you are recording...

It sounds like you might be selecting a "stereo" source as your input. You need to select separate (mono) inputs for each track. Something like
ProQ10 Left 1/2 for Track 1.
ProQ10 Right 1/2 for Track 2.
ProQ10 Left 3/4 for Track 3.

Then make sure your mics are plugged into the appropriate corresponding input jacks on your sound card.

Also, you are going to get some bleed on each of the mics. Which means that you will still hear all three drums on each track to some degree. The primary drum being recorded should be the loudest however.
