software to tap out beats
Is there such a thing? I've got an outboard sampler/sequencer that I use for some shows, but I do all my recording on CPU and would rather not have to load/assign samples to a stand alone to tap out beats.
On the other end, I've got a version of Fruity Loops and that seems pretty tight, but I'd rather tap out my grooves as opposed to working with the grid layout. Any thoughts or suggestions? Let me hear ya... J |

"Tap Out" like you would on an MPC?
If you just need to assign a sample to a key, why not just use a midi keyboard and your softsampler of choice. FL will do fine |

Yep, a MIDI keyboard and capture the note (drum hit) data in FL.

Thanks for the help! I've already got a MIDI keyboard, but have never tried that with FL... Anyone can to give me a brief run down on how to set that up?
Also, does that work for triggering .wav file samples that I have stored on my hard drive? I'm more interested in using ACID one-shots than I am the stock FL sounds... Let me know. Thanks! J |

BATTERY by Native Instruments You can load the samples in BATTERY, then trigger them with your midi keyboard or MPD 16.

You can use Battery with Acid Pro, also.
