acid pro vs cakewalk

Hello everyone, I had a dumb question. What is the difference between Acid PRO and software like cakewalk studio or cubase? Does Acid PRO only allow you to edit/mix existing beats and do the others let u create new beats? I want to produce some good thumpin beatz with my PC and a Yamaha keyboard I bought. Later on I want to record some vocals as well. Can any1 help?

There's no good reason to post the same question on all the forums here, it'll just annoy people.

Cool

From my experience, I like Acid pro. I have Cubase which is much more advanced, and cakewalk which by my opinion isn't as user friendly as Acid. But yeah, you can do just about anything with acid. I've made songs good enough for radio using acid. Minus the mastering. hehe If you want my advice go with Acid. peace

Yes. You can do these things with Acid.

However, you can not record more than ONE source at a time in Acid. If you want to record multiple sources simultaneously, you will need to use Sony Vegas Video.

I use Acid Pro 4 for my idea generating, sequencing, and primary arrangement.

I use SONAR for my mixing and tweaking.

I see Acid has an "All Mashed Up" contest with David Bowie tunes to win an Audi coupe.
Mix and Match samples.

Bowie always seems to be on the cutting edge with his internet marketing.

I'm not sure if Cakewalk has that kind of community on there site; post songs, listen, colaborate, if that matters at all to ya.

I think you can download some sort of free version to check out the interface. Cakewalk interface gives me a headache.

Actually, Acid and Sonar work well together.

Sonar (Cakewalk) is not that diffulcult to learn (eventhough there is a learning curve).
