Best Warm Analog sounding Compressor for my Guitar rig?

perferaebly under $500, Really perferably under $200.

I have the RNC but it sounds so clinical when I run my guitar through it,

Thanks ahead of time for the responses!

What exactly are you attempting to do? If you are looking for a coloured signal to be added by a compressor - you should prolly budget more than a few hundred. The RNC by design is supposed to be transparent - and thats a strong point for its price. Many cheap compressors will (not by design) colour your signal but it will sound awful.

your best bet would be a UAD-1 card if your in DAW world....200 bucks for a real outboard compressor, that would just cover the PSU

In that range, I'd say either TF Pro or Joe Meek. Possibly an ART Pro VLA.

The DBX 166 is older and you have to buy em on E-Bay, but they have some character, sorta warm if you can actually hear temperature. RNC is really too clean for certain things.
