laptop pwr supply

Hi guys - I posted a long time ago about this: I have a laptop & the power supply noise is being recorded right into the C.walk sequencer. Is there any workaround or different kind of pwr source I could buy? I don't really know much about grounding or electrical work. Thanks

Paresh,
Have you tried recording on lap-top battery power?

power supply

Yes it works fine on batteries but audio takes too much processing power & wears them down before I get very far.

parametric eq

In response to my own question re power supply noise - what if I create a template using parametric eq to filter out the noise? I got a little improvement fooling around with it (the one that comes w Cakewalk GT Pro) but I don't have much experience w parametric. Could anyone suggest some basic settings for what I would call a white noise/static/crackling sound that I want to get rid of? The C.walk eq has: 4 bands, low shelf, peak & high shelf, & gain, center freq, & Q knobs. Thanks
