Question

How would you evaluate the differences between the Presonus Blue Max (about $150) and the RNC compressors (about $180)? Is the RNC worth the extra bucks? I'd be using them for vocals, primarily, with an Amphex 107 pre-amp and going into a Roland VS 880. Comments?

Wink

I've got an ACP88 (personus) and it's good. I see people raving about the RNC everywhere lately, calling it a steal for the price. When I need another compressor I'm going to get it just to have one. According to what I've read, it's a gotta have. Never saw anyone say that about the blue max or acp88.

Thumbs up

I've use a BlueMax before, and they are awsome compressors. The best thing about them is that they have presets for many different things as well as manual opperations. If you are worried or unsure what parameters to use, just dial up the preset; it's that easy.
