Cool

We've just replaced all of our wide area networking equipment at work and I found that I have several left over rack rails. I honestly don't know how that could've happened. I thought my estimates were really close... :-)
Anyway, I'm going to be installing these into the computer desk that I use for my recording equipment and I have a question.
Does bolting the equipment directly to the rack cause problems with groud loops ? Since all of the things have grounded cases, it seems like it might.
Should I use some kind of insulating spacers to isolate the units from the rack?

I have never really had any grounding problems with my racks. I know that every little bit you do to improve the sound quality of your gear helps with your overall sound. I know that this sounds simple, but I would try it without the spacers before you spend the money on spacers. If you feel that your gear is not as quiet as it should be, then buy the spacers.
