Question recordin' 3d sound:audioguide for blind

hi i am looking for suggestions and info on

how to record sound and speeches in 3d...for a museum audioguide for the blind

which kind of microphone?how expensive
is cool edit 2 good enough?
which complexity?
some tips?

please help.

The only real way to do 3D audio is binaural recording. Try a search here and on google and you will get a lot of info. It basically involves putting two omni condensors into a fake head or wearing them by your ears and recording the audio. When played back with headphones it's pretty amazing.
